My name is John Miller and I am the Managing Director of Compliance Fire Safety Ltd, I have an engineering background having served in the Royal Navy for 15 years before joining the Fire & Rescue Service where I served for 19 years.
My previous role was as a Fire Safety Regulator responsible for compliance and enforcement of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 across the MoD estate worldwide.
Previous roles have also included Group Manager of regional Fire Safety teams and as the Senior Instructor at the Defence Live Fire Training Centre at Manston responsible for some 1,600 students per year on average.

Who or what is a Suitably Qualified and Experienced person (SQEP) in Fire Safety?
A person is regarded as SQEP, when they can provide evidence that they have the knowledge, experience, training and other relevant qualities to enable them to properly assist in undertaking the role of a Fire Safety Engineer / Consultant / Risk Assessor.
Our consultants all maintain current CPD records, and as a minimum hold a Level 4 Diploma in Fire Safety (Inspectors), as well as memberships of both the Engineering Council and the Institution of Fire Engineers and are accredited to provide our services.
